[[hardly any work done]]

I feel like a bum, but really I've been working almost every single day these past couple of weeks: I picked up a bunch of Shannon's shifts, and in so doing have worked a LOT more than expected during a "vacation". In any case, I started to look up a couple of names for Damien's (still unnamed) mother. So hopefully, once I investigate the little part of the meaning of one of the names I'm looking at, I can pick one and go with it. I need to get the Dad's name together, but I have most of the weekend to do stuff. I'll try to get my butt in gear and get more posts out as well as more work done.

On a side note, when explaining to Chellis what this is about, he ended up saying that this would be a story of 'Robin Hood', 'Lord of the Rings', 'Harry Potter' and a dash of 'Queer as Folk' on the side to account for Lyki and Damien's attraction to each other. Now what do people think about it? Haha.

Laura here, Guin. Finally got myself on to LJ. Have not yet pulled together a substantial post for the blog. Hoping to soon.

Have you read Jonathan Stroud's Bartimeaus Trilogy or Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series? Both of these have political conflicts like those you're working with. More thoughts on this soon.

Hate to be the blogging nag -- but sit down and keep working on those chapters.

haha tonight I'm actually working on some stuff! I can't wait to read your post though, I'm sure it will be interesting.

As for the books, I believe I've heard of Jonathan Stroud (I might want to take a look at the library my parents continue to build on, it's possibly there) and I'll be sure to look into Pullman. Thank you for the suggestions.
