So I have nine Vlogs I'll be doing in November and I've gotten the points of interest marked down in a word doc. Tomorrow I'll be going to Staples to get some index cards (because I can't find any here). Then I'll have to accumulate sources and links and perhaps some images to compliment my Vlogs.

Also, I ran this all past my Daddy and Chellis and both agree that they don't see that I'm missing anything as far as topics go.

In addition, I finished copying over everything from Angels of Shard: Our Guardians into my new notebook as well as The Weeping Year. I'm now working on Paper Fireflies and The Runner and getting everything in one place.

As for my goal for the month, I've already written over the 25,000 I'd wanted to. Just not all in one place, like I had originally hoped for. Hahaha, oh well. At least I've written a whole bunch! I still have another three days, too.

I missed yesterday, so I'm gonna have to play catch up. On the upside, I've already sold 10 copies of Be Happy, Idiot.

Back to Paper Fireflies, though; I plan to have this be about the same length as Be Happy, Idiot, but written over the span of two or three months (since I didn't specify that my 25000 words would be written on just one project, it might be broken up into a three month stint). However, I'm hoping that this way I'll have that one in the editing process once I start up my NaNoWriMo for this year (which I plan to either be working on The Runner or Book One of The Series).

Book One, The Series:

The Runner:

Why yes, I have been working on them a bit. I've been really working on the website with D. C. Saylor and publishing stuff, though, so it's okay that I've been a bit slow with these.

Seriously, I've been trying to brainstorm all day for what should come next (plotting wise) for The Runner. I've got nothing right now. I keep getting snippets of conversations from Splintered Man instead. Which is not helpful. At all.

Maybe writing will bear some fruit.

We'll see.

While doing my mile run this morning, I planned out another four chapters of The Runner. Yay! That means I've plotted up to Chapter Nine. I have a lot to do, but I'm hoping to get some more writing in today!
deepintrospect: (process)
So I plotted up through to Chapter Five. I have some idea of what I want to do from there, but I'd like to write the first two chapters before that happens. I'm partway through the first chapter, writing-wise. Been working on it a bit today, added like 500 words, so far.

So today I'm pushing myself to actually get something done, so I've chosen the names for both of the main alien characters and I plan to put together their character profiles before I stop for the day. The male alien, who will be working to get his species off of Earth and back to their home planet (still unnamed), is named "Jyrr". The female alien, who is pretty much the leader here on Earth and is all warrior-like is named "Kren", she's the main antagonist in the novel. I'm working on her profile first, so it should work out well!

I'm excited to be making this push and getting things figured out!

EDIT (a day or so later): I completed the character profiles right after I posted this, so now I should be able to get to work on plotting the chapters and writing!

So I got the walls, doors and windows in on the third floor of the guest wing with Chell's help. I started with the ceiling, but got bored and decided to leave it until we had either Emer or Rusty to help out with it. As mentioned before, the first and second floor are complete. We do want to add large windows to the ballroom, but we haven't tackled that particular project quite yet. I get the feeling I'll leave the boys to do that while I'm laying out the first floor of the Red Wing (Damien's Mum's wing). They'll have fun, I'm sure.

Otherwise--I've planned out the first chapter of The Runner and just need to work up two character sketches--one for the unnamed male alien that sort of works with Ryan "Nihil", and the unnamed female alien who is basically the main villain. I think it'll be fun, as will finishing up Killian's short story.

So I only have a thousand or so words written for this one, but I knew I needed to solidify what the plot was going to be. Mostly, I needed to figure out the starting point, and go from there to get the middle bit figured in (that I have loosely planned). The problem I encountered was that there are two ways to go about the beginning. I started off thinking option #1 was the perfect way to go about it, but the more I think about it, I think option #2 is better--it gives me the chance to introduce the plot instead of just jumping straight into it.

So, I'm taking some time to mull it over--meanwhile, I'll be working on the Minecraft Mansion.

Yup, this chapter's going to be looonnnngg. I'm okay with that, though. It sets the pace for me. In other news, Maybe by Sick Puppies is amazing. I guess I never really listened to the words until now. But I love it, love it, love it.

Will be editing as I continue. As for The Runner...

A little pathetic, but hey! Now I actually know what my plot is, so I can plan it out and then write lots more!

So, in lieu of a strange dream I had last night, I decided that The Runner would be a bit different than originally intended. However, this change doesn't mean it'll be horrible in comparison. The solution actually ties up some huge plot holes I had lurking around.

Ryan is to be part plant.

I know, I know. You're all going "WTF is she on about?" But trust me, it'll be fun. :D

So I obviously didn't get to writing much of Book One yesterday. I had so many things distracting me and by the time they stopped distracting me... I was exhausted. So today: Editing Chapter Two, Writing some of Book One OR The Runner, putting away laundry and maybe, maybe, doing the dishes. Sounds like a fun time, huh?

Also,

Okay, not really a romance. I'm thinking horror, actually. And "you" would be Rusty. So I've been brainstorming and I still don't know of any plots that I could write that would be horror-y. :/ I'm terrible at that genre. However, I do have the idea that one of us would write through the victim's eyes, the other through the possible-psycho-killer's. Wouldn't that be badass? Okay, maybe not. Maybe possible-psycho-killer's and the sheriff in town? That would flush out the book a bit more. Get more characters involved and such.

I will have to bring this up to him.

In addition, I've been getting some feedback from friends/family about Be Happy, Idiot and I'll start fixing it up soon.

The Runner is up to 850 words, but I plan on 2,000 by the end of today. For reals this time!

So I got my reward: a female dachshund, five years old and a dapple long-hair. We bring her home today and I'm mega excited!

In other news: I'm up to 755 words on The Runner. I need to work more on it. I'm going to try for 2,000 words today.

With Be Happy, Idiot completed I need to start working on a new project. This one? The Runner.

It's sci-fi rather than fantasy, but it'll be just as fun! :) I've already started in on it, but 563 words is nothing to brag about.
