Okay, so I finally went and got index cards today (mostly because I was already in Staples for packaging tape, but that's a whole other, really long story). Not to mention, it took me about ten minutes of wandering the store with a completely lost expression on my face and not receiving any help in order to find the damn note cards. On the other hand, I now have about a bajillion extra, so I'll never need to go find them again.

Anyway, so I have the first card written out. I'll be working on getting the other ones done too, but it'll take a few days before I can actually start the process of shooting the video I need for them. I plan to have the living/dining room rearranged before then so it doesn't look like I'm living in a hell hole.

Oh, btw, one last day and I've more than met my goal for this month ;) I win!

EDIT1 (2:56pm): Actually, I got all of the note cards done. Go me! Plus, everything looks awesome now! I still won't be actually doing the video for a couple more days at least. I still need to find/make images and such to cut into the video. I want everything prepared.

So I have nine Vlogs I'll be doing in November and I've gotten the points of interest marked down in a word doc. Tomorrow I'll be going to Staples to get some index cards (because I can't find any here). Then I'll have to accumulate sources and links and perhaps some images to compliment my Vlogs.

Also, I ran this all past my Daddy and Chellis and both agree that they don't see that I'm missing anything as far as topics go.

In addition, I finished copying over everything from Angels of Shard: Our Guardians into my new notebook as well as The Weeping Year. I'm now working on Paper Fireflies and The Runner and getting everything in one place.

As for my goal for the month, I've already written over the 25,000 I'd wanted to. Just not all in one place, like I had originally hoped for. Hahaha, oh well. At least I've written a whole bunch! I still have another three days, too.
deepintrospect: (good connection)
As far as Paper Fireflies goes, I'm working on Chapter Two and have planned up to Chapter Four.

On a touch of the embarrassing side: I had to Google whether or not Fireflies actually hung out in Georgia. D: My Encyclopedic mind was lacking in knowledge of that specific quandary. Good thing I know now, though, right?

EDIT1 (11:04 am): Researched PTSD for Katherine. I then had an hour and a half long conversation with my sister Erica about how to make the character realistic, how I had my novel started, where I wanted it to go and such. I'm very glad that I talked with her, she opened my eyes to a lot of issues I didn't even know I was having. :) Yay for Erica!

Okay, so... I've been chilling for a week after I returned from a whole week up in my hometown. Granted, I should have picked up writing ASAP, I didn't. I tried to with Paper Fireflies, but nothing was really coming out. As for reaching my goal for the month: I blame the trip for taking too much out of me (read as: I didn't reach my goal). However, this month (July) I plan to actually write those 25,000 words I planned to write for last month (and ended up falling wayyyyy short of).

Tonight I've been sporadically working on The Death of Someone (AKA Book One of the Series). So far very strained, but still pushing through it. I want to write, dammit.

So I started working on the novel Paper Fireflies. Katherine, the MC just decided to start opening up to me. Therefore, it's started being written. Also, for anyone who might be interested, I vowed at [livejournal.com profile] thedailywriter to write 25,000 words this month. Not as much as I'd like, but I have a vacation across the country planned for about a week this month. We'll see if 25,000 can get done.

As for Paper Fireflies, it's about a 14 year-old girl and her father in the aftermath of a house fire that claimed the lives of their dog and her mother. It's about how they deal with the grief and the changes and everything. It's plain fiction, this time. Nothing supernatural or fantasy-like about it.

So far only one of my writing buddies is a winner: Mad! So give it up for her and her amazingness!

Now, all I have is 8,000 more words. Think I can do it? I think so.

EDIT1 (8:52am): 43k! 7k more!

EDIT2 (10:44am): 44k. 6k more to go. I think I can do this.

EDIT3 (11:17am):45k. 5k more. I definitely can do this.

EDIT4 (11:45am): chapter fourteen complete. two more chapters, roughly 3k each. should be a face roll.

EDIT5 (6:24pm): a little later than originally planned, but 49k on the dot. 1k more. I can DO THIS. RAWR.
deepintrospect: (not good)
Honestly, I just hit 40,000 words. (Five words over, in fact.) And I only have 10k more to write (I bet my book will be more than 50k). I aim to get to 43k by the end of today, but I got an early start. I'm just glad that the 30s are over and done with.

Let's see how quickly I can write 3,000 more words, huh?

EDIT1 (4:59 pm): 42k and chapter thirteen are done. three more chapters!

After a minor crisis this morning with my computer not starting up, we fixed it and I got back to work on my novel. I'm currently at 38.5k and planning on getting quite a large chunk done today.

This was also my final day of working at 7-11. So I'll have more time to work on Be Happy, Idiot. Yay!

For all of my American followers-- Happy Thanksgiving!

27k!

Well, I got to 27k in two hours. I would have finished off Chapter Nine, but I have to work 10-6. Poop. I hate it. I have to work for the next two weeks almost every night. I might ask for the weekend off, though, since we have acquaintances coming by.

25k!!!!!

Half-way there! YAY!

Not sure if I'll get anymore written tonight.

I'm having a fuck all time with work lately.
deepintrospect: (ling)
Be Happy, Idiot is entirely planned out; all sixteen chapters of it. It should be well over 50,000 words (or I hope so, anyway). It has a well-rounded plot with plenty of action, drama, and attempted murders (there are four, currently).

I have tiny details planned and written down so I will have each Chapter being happy happy happy!

Hopefully everyone who's looking forward to reading this will find it an enjoyable ride.

Anyway, I have a word count to start knocking down. I *will* make 25k today, even if it kills me. At least 1500 now, then a nap, then another 1500. Rain or shine: I'll be writing you, you silly novel!

EDIT1 (8:50 am): put up an excerpt from Be Happy, Idiot on my nanowrimo page. :)

I wrote my Dedication today. Not anything huge, but it does contribute to the word count. I figured out who I wanted to dedicate Be Happy, Idiot to and it was a cake walk.

Working towards my goal of 25,000 today. Almost to 21k now. Will give updates as the day goes on.

EDIT (1:47 am): 21k!

EDIT 2 (10:48 pm): 22k!

Not going to get to 25k, but that's because I slept through my alarm.

break time!

So I reached 7k by 12am; not quite my goal, but good enough. I'll get to at least 9k if not 10k by tonight. Since i got my MC (main character) out of the funeral/wake, it's been smooth sailing. Of course, I only have up to Chapter Four planned. I'm in Chapter Three right now. Hopefully I'll sit down before I start writing again and outline a few chapters ahead. I think there will be about 20 chapters in all. Hopefully. Maybe less.

In addition, I have backed up my novel on a flashdrive I bought for this specific reason. :D

PS. I love how when my best friend has a question like "what are the dimensions of a grizzly bear claw?" my wonderful boyfriend has the heart to go out and find out the answer so she doesn't have to take time out of writing in order to research it. He's positively amazing and I love him so dearly.

5K!

-throws confetti-

Now, 10k mark! I sincerely hope I get more written today, but I desperately need a nap. -yawn- I'm sooooooooo tired!

But I met and passed my goal for today, so I'm all set. Night shift tonight, so I'm not sure how much more I'll get done.
deepintrospect: (good connection)
Chapter One is officially complete for Be Happy, Idiot. I ended up adding about 1,000 words to it. Chapter Two will be started shortly, my goal being 2,500 words for today. Only about 434 words to go! I want a good start for NaNoWriMo :)

My goal is to write 2,500 - 5,000 words a day; it would make sure that I completed Be Happy, Idiot well before the deadline. I want to win this one. I need to. It's important to me. I need to prove to myself and everyone else that I can write a full novel without getting stuck.

In addition, I completed the second floor of Damien's wing in Minecraft yesterday. It needs a complete ceiling, but otherwise it's all good. Then I need to make the third floor.

So far, my Mum seems supportive and wants to read the end result, my boyfriend is interested, but mostly in me meeting my goal :)

I can't wait for the pep talk by Mercedes Lackey! She was one of the first adult authors that I began reading: the Arrow series and Gryphon series are my most favourite. I feel like I should read more of her stuff.

EDIT: up to 2,672 words!

EDIT 2: completed the ceiling of floor two in Damien's Wing!
