Feb. 3rd, 2011 07:38 pmWell, I finally posted the review to Tecolote on Amazon[dot]com. I still have to review The Angel and the Brown Eyed Boy.
I've managed to successfully put off writing anything for a few days, and I suddenly decided enough was enough. So now I'm working on it again--chapter two. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll make my goal of 150k, but who knows. Maybe I will! If I don't, I suppose I won't be too terribly upset.
My Mum has said that she will get the edited version of Be Happy, Idiot to me by March. I'm really hoping that I can get it sorted out by the end of March, and therefore be ready to see about a publisher soon after. Sure, it's the only book I have so far, but with what I'm working on already, I hope that I can convince someone that I'm awesome. :P
Damien is a wonderful character, by the way. He's loads of fun!

So I obviously didn't get to writing much of Book One yesterday. I had so many things distracting me and by the time they stopped distracting me... I was exhausted. So today: Editing Chapter Two, Writing some of Book One OR The Runner, putting away laundry and maybe, maybe, doing the dishes. Sounds like a fun time, huh?

Nov. 2nd, 2010 02:02 amIt sucked. I tried to write, but it wasn't really coming out. I managed to write the connecting/transition piece from phone call to the start of the funeral scene, though. So today wasn't a total loss for NaNoWriMo. 2,802 words so far!
Worked on the mansion in Minecraft today too. Finished Damien's Wing (The Blue Wing). The roof is done over the Guest Wing (The Red Wing) and started over Kaleigh's Wing (The Gold Wing). I started in on the interior of the Red Wing, beginning with the foyer and then the floor to the ballroom. I need to add the balconies and the chandeliers in the ballroom, and then figure out the layout for the rest of the first floor. Second floor will be reserved for bedrooms and bathrooms along with other rooms needed for 'comfort'. The third floor will hold the overflow of these rooms, I think.
I think I'll try to work on more of Be Happy, Idiot now, before I go to bed.

chapter one!
Oct. 31st, 2010 03:37 pmChapter One is officially complete for Be Happy, Idiot. I ended up adding about 1,000 words to it. Chapter Two will be started shortly, my goal being 2,500 words for today. Only about 434 words to go! I want a good start for NaNoWriMo :)
My goal is to write 2,500 - 5,000 words a day; it would make sure that I completed Be Happy, Idiot well before the deadline. I want to win this one. I need to. It's important to me. I need to prove to myself and everyone else that I can write a full novel without getting stuck.
In addition, I completed the second floor of Damien's wing in Minecraft yesterday. It needs a complete ceiling, but otherwise it's all good. Then I need to make the third floor.
So far, my Mum seems supportive and wants to read the end result, my boyfriend is interested, but mostly in me meeting my goal :)
I can't wait for the pep talk by Mercedes Lackey! She was one of the first adult authors that I began reading: the Arrow series and Gryphon series are my most favourite. I feel like I should read more of her stuff.
EDIT: up to 2,672 words!

Today I finished up going over Chapter 2 for a final copy. I'll meet with Laura during fifth period.

May. 12th, 2008 09:57 pmno sooner had I thought I was out of the bad times in writing, but I've sunk back down. There's been so much going on lately it's hard to keep up. So I'm wading through, and the work I'm putting out otherwise just doesn't feel like it's up to par. Perhaps I'll settle down with some music, my computer, and just try to get out whatever's in my brain.
After all, Laura did help me piece together (and chart out) the introduction to chapter two. I can at least get that written for Thursday, although I'd like it much better if I got more work on chapter three done.
