So I have nine Vlogs I'll be doing in November and I've gotten the points of interest marked down in a word doc. Tomorrow I'll be going to Staples to get some index cards (because I can't find any here). Then I'll have to accumulate sources and links and perhaps some images to compliment my Vlogs.

Also, I ran this all past my Daddy and Chellis and both agree that they don't see that I'm missing anything as far as topics go.

In addition, I finished copying over everything from Angels of Shard: Our Guardians into my new notebook as well as The Weeping Year. I'm now working on Paper Fireflies and The Runner and getting everything in one place.

As for my goal for the month, I've already written over the 25,000 I'd wanted to. Just not all in one place, like I had originally hoped for. Hahaha, oh well. At least I've written a whole bunch! I still have another three days, too.

After my talk with my sister, I sent her what I had so far of Paper Fireflies and wanted her opinion on it. It's been a while and I've been having trouble getting in contact with her. I've been loathe to continue work on it in case I'm going to end up tweaking the beginning a bit. So today I finally had enough waiting around and decided to do some organizing of my notes on all of my up-and-comings. I got three new BIG binders for 30 cents at the ReStore (which is awesome) and picked up a 5-subject notebook and some pens at Staples.

All in all, I decided to move the notes from the State of Grace to a larger binder (the one it's in right now is basically overflowing), and put five of my stand alone novels in the 5-subject notebook. Since I purchased them I've been working on getting notes and stuff copied over or moved into the right places.

So I've been busy giving my stuff a new set-up and been working on side-stories and little bits and pieces of things here and there. I've also been thinking about the Vlogs recently. Should be fun. For now, though, I'm going to take a break and grab a shower then go to Steak and Shake :P

As far as Paper Fireflies goes, I'm working on Chapter Two and have planned up to Chapter Four.

On a touch of the embarrassing side: I had to Google whether or not Fireflies actually hung out in Georgia. D: My Encyclopedic mind was lacking in knowledge of that specific quandary. Good thing I know now, though, right?

EDIT1 (11:04 am): Researched PTSD for Katherine. I then had an hour and a half long conversation with my sister Erica about how to make the character realistic, how I had my novel started, where I wanted it to go and such. I'm very glad that I talked with her, she opened my eyes to a lot of issues I didn't even know I was having. :) Yay for Erica!

Working on Paper Fireflies today, aiming to get the first chapter finished. Almost finished now.

As a note: I've been finding that my characters don't want to let the chapters end :/ They like to drag it out. I'm quite surprised, actually, because usually it's a bugger to just get them to talk.

EDIT1 (3:46pm): finished Chapter One. Now for a break before going on.

Okay, so... I've been chilling for a week after I returned from a whole week up in my hometown. Granted, I should have picked up writing ASAP, I didn't. I tried to with Paper Fireflies, but nothing was really coming out. As for reaching my goal for the month: I blame the trip for taking too much out of me (read as: I didn't reach my goal). However, this month (July) I plan to actually write those 25,000 words I planned to write for last month (and ended up falling wayyyyy short of).

Tonight I've been sporadically working on The Death of Someone (AKA Book One of the Series). So far very strained, but still pushing through it. I want to write, dammit.

I've been having trouble sitting down and writing lately. I've been trying to work it into my daily schedule for now (because I'm trying to get ready for the trip up to Vermont). I'm sure once that's over and done with everything will even out and I'll get back to writing every day. However, I have started doing some of the character profiles for Paper Fireflies. I have Katherine's finished and I'm working on Jeremiah's at the moment (about half-way done). Keep in mind, my profiles are very detailed and in-depth. I work a couple of hours on a single profile to get it perfect. I include reference photos and such for anything I deem necessary.

At some point I should show you all the list of questions I fill out for each profile. I'll probably do that toward November, though, when I can do a Vlog of it.

Edit1 (9:09pm): finished Jeremiah and Aaron. Want to get Becky done before the night is done. :)

So I finally got around to purchasing D.C. Saylor's and my domain name. We now have BirchBarkPaper[dot]com. However, we're still playing around with images and layout options, so it's definitely not up yet. We plan to have the site up and running by the first part of July.

Later today I'm going to an eye appointment, so hopefully this means I'll get new contacts in the near future and whole bunches of other stuff. (Like maybe a pair of glasses!) We'll see though.

As for writing, I'm planning on getting another 2k done today (maybe finishing up Chapter One of Paper Fireflies?).

I missed yesterday, so I'm gonna have to play catch up. On the upside, I've already sold 10 copies of Be Happy, Idiot.

Back to Paper Fireflies, though; I plan to have this be about the same length as Be Happy, Idiot, but written over the span of two or three months (since I didn't specify that my 25000 words would be written on just one project, it might be broken up into a three month stint). However, I'm hoping that this way I'll have that one in the editing process once I start up my NaNoWriMo for this year (which I plan to either be working on The Runner or Book One of The Series).

So I started working on the novel Paper Fireflies. Katherine, the MC just decided to start opening up to me. Therefore, it's started being written. Also, for anyone who might be interested, I vowed at [livejournal.com profile] thedailywriter to write 25,000 words this month. Not as much as I'd like, but I have a vacation across the country planned for about a week this month. We'll see if 25,000 can get done.

As for Paper Fireflies, it's about a 14 year-old girl and her father in the aftermath of a house fire that claimed the lives of their dog and her mother. It's about how they deal with the grief and the changes and everything. It's plain fiction, this time. Nothing supernatural or fantasy-like about it.
