I just have to be in the mood. I finally am in such a mood and managed to edit one third of Be Happy, Idiot. I have ten chapters left to edit and plan to get at least another five done tonight. It's all a process. I want to have the hard copy I won for completing the NaNoWriMo in my hands by the time my Dad visits in May.

In any case, I'll be working on that for the next few days.

Okay, I lied. I finished editing it tonight. Yes, it is 2 am. But still, now all I need to do is make it a PDF and an official manuscript before I get my free copy. Then I'll do a bit of poking around before I decide whether to publish it hardcopy or do it digitally, where to do it, etc. Anyone have any useful information on that?

EDIT2 (2:24am): okay, made the PDF file.

Well, I finally posted the review to Tecolote on Amazon[dot]com. I still have to review The Angel and the Brown Eyed Boy.

I've managed to successfully put off writing anything for a few days, and I suddenly decided enough was enough. So now I'm working on it again--chapter two. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll make my goal of 150k, but who knows. Maybe I will! If I don't, I suppose I won't be too terribly upset.

My Mum has said that she will get the edited version of Be Happy, Idiot to me by March. I'm really hoping that I can get it sorted out by the end of March, and therefore be ready to see about a publisher soon after. Sure, it's the only book I have so far, but with what I'm working on already, I hope that I can convince someone that I'm awesome. :P

Damien is a wonderful character, by the way. He's loads of fun!

titles

So the past few days I've been agonizing over the name for the series. I've thrown out every single thing that's either been suggested or I've thought up. Eventually, when I mentioned it to Chellis, he told me I was being an idiot. So now I'm not going to worry myself over a title, whether for books or the series as a whole. It'll come to me when it comes, I suppose.

Every once in a while I need a kick on the butt to get going in the right direction again.

However, the goal for tonight is 3k. I want to make it past 10k. Sounds good, yeah? Well, hopefully I can make it.

So I obviously didn't get to writing much of Book One yesterday. I had so many things distracting me and by the time they stopped distracting me... I was exhausted. So today: Editing Chapter Two, Writing some of Book One OR The Runner, putting away laundry and maybe, maybe, doing the dishes. Sounds like a fun time, huh?

I hate it with a passion. Why can't it just be perfect on the first try? -sigh-

Well, I've read some of the book Aunt Kathy sent to me for Christmas (a book about self-publishing), and have Be Happy, Idiot open to start editing. I don't really want to edit it, though. Just because I'm lazy, I suppose. However, I do hope that I can manage to write a thousand+ words for Book One and edit the first chapter of Be Happy, Idiot.

On the upside, there are a few things I wish to change in my book, and since I know what I want to change, it should be relatively simple to do so.

Besides, I have pomegranate seeds to fuel me. :D

EDIT1 (6:19pm): finished editing and flushing out Chapter One. It wasn't too difficult. I took more time in writing the first few chapters, but I think my Mum's suggestions made it a much more pleasant read. Now onto writing some for Book One!

So, with Chell's help I've managed to pretty much rework my Series. I decided how many books it would be (six, if you're wondering), and the plot for each of them. The only thing I'm stuck on is the last book. I know how I want the Series to end, but the ending will be something like the last half/quarter of the book. I don't know what to do with the first bit of the book, though. This has severely frustrated me.

However, I have also reworked Lyki's character sketch. I still need to redo Damien's because I sort of changed their characters and solidified them, but otherwise the sketch won't change much.

I'm going to be working on titles. I want them to somewhat go together, but I want the Series title to be slightly different than the book titles. So, I'm going to trudge around and see what I can come up with. I always work better when a title is in place (and I like the feeling of my work having a title, so I have something to call it while I'm working on it instead of just "the series" and "book one of the series" and so on).

I'm also going to be taking breaks, periodically, and working on editing Be Happy, Idiot, seeing as I've got a few things to change up.

I wrote! Haha, I'm very glad I did, but in any case:

I wrote the ending to Chapter Three, Chellis and I started editing Chapter Three together, and I wrote a large hunk of Chapter Four.

In addition I worked on information on different species: Sprites, Vampires, Werewolves, and Shapeshifters. Yay!
