Update! Oh Em Gee!
Oct. 23rd, 2009 05:03 pmSo I have been working on everything. I now have two standalone books in the making as well as my series going. The series is actually going slowly because I'm concentrating on the other two more. The "Triad" book is developing nicely. I have much of the plot already planned out and seperated into chapters. All I have to do now is write. And writing: I have been doing. Since I've moved to Florida and don't have a job yet, I'm floating along and writing. I have the Prologue and Most of Chapters One and Two complete, but since I'm panning through the characters I think I'll pull back and concentrate on one character, then another, and then finally the third character before I pull them all together. It will be easier for me to stay in character that way, I think.
As for the Series... I've been developing some supporting role characters and working on existing chapters to get it into tip-top shape. I just wish it was a bit easier.
Now, the other book: "The Runner" is following a fifteen year old boy and his dog "Sweetie" as they're trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. Aliens have taken over, and these aliens are killing off all of the males in the human species. He's managed to survive thusfar, but he gets in a lot of scrapes and ends up finding the secret to making the alien race turn tail and run. Now, what will he do with it?
The overall premise is easy-peasy. But my writing style needs work if I'm going to stay in character. Surprisingly, reading manga and then watching the anime is helping me to establish what people look for in main characters. Who knows how quickly (or slowly) this will go...
