deepintrospect: (good connection)
So I was reading a thread on the NaNoWriMo forums (Fantasy) and it was mentioning Loki and Sigyn. As soon as I saw it, I had to go find out who Sigyn was (I've never really studied Norse Mythology before) and was astounded to see that Sigyn was married to Loki.

Now why this interested me so:

Lyki and Signy are brother and sister in State of Grace. I knew Lyki's name since the beginning, knew he had a sister and randomly chose her name based on meaning and origin. I find it rather coincidental that this happened and hope that once I do actually get my series finished and/or published, that readers do not read too much into this. It wasn't exactly meant to happen that way. However, I'm not going to change it. I like the two of them the way they are. :P

Well, I sent off the first five chapters of my Series to my Dad so he could see if I have any continuity issues, or have anything that's unclear. I'll be sending more along as I get more written. Without further ado, I'll put a little exerpt here for people to read.

Phew! Today has been difficult. All day (besides a break by playing with my cat since Spot's getting neutered and feeding horses) I've worked on my series. It's still without a name, which I'm sure will come after the fact, but I've gotten a map of Damien's (main character) childhood home laid out. It's not a real place, technically, although it's got real places around it. Minnesota: "Birchwood Heights" (reminds me almost of "Twin Peaks" the 1990's 'unresolved' murder case in a box) He lives on a private Lane that doesn't exist: "Mahogany Lane". So it's not really the 'suburbs' per se, but close enough to the suburbs that it would be a short drive to get there. I'm guessing it's a couple hours away from St. Paul and Minneapolis. I wish I could visit there. Well, if I'm ever in the region, that will be a stop (Can anyone say 'roadtrip'?). I also got the "boyfriend"'s name. "Lyki Agnarr Velief" all Old Norse in origin. I think it's fitting enough. I have information on it, plus two throwaway characters. I finished up a lot of half-done things, plus I plotted with my Mum's help. My Mum and Dad help expand on my ideas, so I'm really glad I have ingenius, schemeing parents. They're handy for something at least... Haha, not that I don't love them (o.O) I think the cupcakes with a double dose of confectioner's sugar is getting to me. :) Oh well, I should probably go to bed: I have work in the morning and cosmic bowling later in the night. (Just how do I fit in all this plotting with the things I do?)

Until then,
