In looking at more possible locations for the International school(unnamed) I found an interesting blurb pertaining to Finland (see this here). Also, before I was too eager to say that Finland was freezing cold. It appears that it is much the same climate as Vt, but more like Canada (say, around either the Great Lakes or mid/slightly northern Canada). In addition the architecture there seems phenomenal and rather modern in most cases(Futuro). Some people have said it's very ugly, but it has practical uses as well: such as permanent ladders built leading to the roofs of houses to clear the snow so it doesn't block the chimneys.
On another note my musings of finding interesting architecture that could perhaps play into the "school" was a success! Revolving apartments seem to be very unique and wouldn't the astronomers amongst us love a dome on the top of a revolving tower? Why hasn't this been done before? It sounds fantastic and fun! And having several classrooms beneath such a dome would be beneficial. It's something to think about when making schematics of a sort for my International school. Next: the name for the place. Phew.

Guin,
I want to teach in the school you design provided there is flexibility in the curriculum for students to create their own studies :)

Perhaps the name of the school could be the word(s) ( in either Finnish or Celtic) that mean "well rounded" -- having to do both with the hope that students who graduate from this school are well rounded in knowledge as well as life/living skills (relevant to the cultures you are creating) and well rounded having to do with floors that rotate 360 degrees. :)

There definitely is. I have an old piece that I wrote pertaining to the school curriculum that had core classes that supported the students with a well built foundation, but mostly their courses pertained to their abilities or what they wished to learn about/go into with their life.

Good advice with the school name, though I think I've chosen the name now. I'll keep it in mind for the courses they can take in those revolving classrooms other than Astronomy/Astrology.
